Staten Island Children’s Museum | Summer Programming

Broadway Stages is committed to promoting the inclusion of experiences, talents, and cultures in our community while helping individuals reach their true potential. One like-minded organization working to enrich the lives of local children is the Staten Island Children’s Museum. As a sponsor of the Museum’s Weekend Wonders free outdoor event series, we are proud to support the Museum as they provide a “welcoming place where our diverse community is included, enabled, and empowered to learn, explore and play.“ Children ages 1+ can experience hands-on experiences, including exhibits, dance and art workshops, science and story times, as well as after-school, school-break and summer camps. The Museum has a number of exciting activities planned for the 2022 summer season to engage your child intellectually, physically, and socially

Summer 2022 events include:

  • Outdoor Weekend Wonders event: the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company will share the history and legacy of Mexican culture through folk dances on Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m.

  • ShopRite Kidz Cook session creating Pride Pasta on Sunday, June 26, at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

  • Through Labor Day, September 5, the Museum is continuing to offer free admission to the families of actively serving military members in collaboration with the Blue Star Museums program. More information about this and other museums that are participating can be found at https://www.arts.gov/initiatives/blue-star-museums.

The Museum is also offering Summer Mini Camps for children ages 5-9. Half-day mornings or afternoons and full-day options are available, with an option for an extended day at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanic Garden. There are several camps with various themes, including outdoor fun; STEAM activities; games; interdisciplinary performing and visual arts; and learning about plants.
