Battling Food Insecurity in our Community
/Autumn in New York City is beautiful. A time to be grateful for all that our city has to offer. Golden, plum and orange hues fill our many parks. There is a crisp chill in the air. And many of us are looking forward to time spent breaking bread with friends and family. As we prepare to enjoy the abundance of the holiday season, we ask that you remember those who may be less fortunate.
Nearly 1.5 million New Yorkers now experience food insecurity, including one in four children, according to a 2021 analysis by Feeding America. Visits to New York City food pantries and soup kitchens are up 69% in 2022 compared to 2019 — and up 14% just since January 2022, when inflation costs began sending food prices soaring.
We invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of our neighbors by lending a hand or making a donation. Below are a few fantastic options to consider!
