David E. Kelley and Barry Levinson Answer "The Calling"

We are thrilled to welcome Emmy-winning writer and producer David E. Kelley, Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson, and the cast of "The Calling" to the Broadway Stages family! All eight episodes of the crime series will drop tomorrow on Peacock.

"The Calling" is based on the 2011 Dror A. Mishani best-selling crime novel "The Missing File." It is the second adaptation of the novel, which was previously adapted as the 2018 French film "Fleuve Noir" ("Black Tide").

Jeff Wilbusch ("Unorthodox") stars as NYPD Detective Avraham Avraham, a deeply religious man who questions his own humanity when a seemingly routine investigation turns upside down. Juliana Canfield ("Succession") co-stars as Janine Harris, a rookie detective. They are joined by Karen Robinson ("Schitt's Creek") as Captain Helen Davies and Michael Mosley ("The Sinner") as the department’s seasoned veteran Earl Malzone.

Also joining the cast in recurring roles are Tony Curran ("Ray Donovan"), Constance Zimmer ("Big Sky"), Chris Sullivan ("This is Us"), Ben Shenkman ("Billions"), Rafael Cebrián ("Narcos"), and Danielle Davenport ("Sneaky Pete").

Kelley, famous for creating shows like "Ally McBeal," "The Practice," and "Boston Public," serves as showrunner and executive producer. Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson ("Rain Man") will co-executive produce and direct multiple episodes. Levinson recently co-executive produced and directed the first two episodes of Hulu's acclaimed miniseries "Dopesick."

We are proud of all the amazing productions being filmed at our soundstages and locations, and the part they play in elevating New York's film and television industry and our local economy.
