Business Spotlight: Adanne Bookstore | Brooklyn

Welcome to Broadway Stages’ Business Spotlight, where we feature local shops, restaurants, and venues in the communities where we have operations. We encourage our readers to join us in supporting these establishments and advancing local economic growth

As the weather begins to turn cooler and we say goodbye to some of our favorite outdoor activities, we begin to think about the many treasures that await us indoors, like cracking open a good book! Passionate readers not only love a good story, but there’s something incredibly special about finding a good bookstore. Sure, shopping online has its merits, but nothing beats strolling through a wonderfully curated selection of books. And if you are looking for something new and unique, we have just the spot, Adanne located in Dumbo

Adanne is a bookshop that celebrates African American culture by selling books and other products, including apothecary, tote bags, tee-shirts and accessories! Adanne debuted in May of this year and immediately people took notice. Owner Darlene Opko , an educator, designer and avid reader, has been obsessed with books since the first grade. As a connoisseur of books, she ensures a constantly evolving selection. It’s not hard to see why people are loving this new shop

Adanne is open Thursday to Sunday, so be sure to plan your visit. You can also check them out on Instagram or head over to their website to see a current selection of their products. Still not convinced? Well, check out what Vogue had to say about the shop. Whether you’re looking for something new, or more of what your love to read, Adanne has you covered! So, as we settle into the cooler season – or really anytime of the year, head over to Adanne and say hello! As always, tell them Broadway Stages sent you.
