72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards | Sunday, September 20

The 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on Sunday, September 20 at 8 p.m. ET. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, his third time as emcee, the ceremony will honor the best in U.S. prime time television programming from June 1, 2019 through May 31, 2020, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. But like everything else in 2020, the ceremony will be different.  While few specifics have been released beyond the fact that Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting at the Staples Center, we do know that there will no audience and no red carpet beforehand. The other thing we know is that there will be some 140 live feeds all over the world in order to capture acceptance speeches. Four shows filmed at Broadway Stages have been nominated for awards including Outstanding Television Movie - Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt; Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie - Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - Tituss Burgess as Titus Andromedon; Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama - Orange is the New Black - Lavern Cox as Sophia Burset; Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music - Wu Tang: An American Saga; and Outstanding Main Title Design - Godfather of Harlem.  We wish them and all the nominees much luck.  Check out the full list of nominations and be sure to mark your calendar.
