Broadway Stages Green Roof Expansion Gets Started

And we’re off! This past weekend the transformation of yet another Broadway Stages studio green rooftop began. The Alive Structures construction crew installed the roof barrier and drainage gravel material on the first of six sections of rooftop that comprise the Broadway Stages Green Corridor. It was quite a feat and accomplishment. Thankfully we had sunny, albeit windy and cold weather. This is the first of six sections of rooftop that will be converted into green garden rooftops as part of the $1.5 million grant provided by the New York State EnvironMental Facilities Corporation’s Green Innovation Grant program that will allow the installation of 1.4 acres of green roof. The almost 61,000 square feet of green rooftops will be called Broadway Stages Green Corridor and will help to advance ecosystem services that are critical to habitat and community.
