March “Bird” Madness at the NYC Audubon
/The March schedule for the NYC Audubon is full of great events available to members and non-members alike.
New to birding? Join Tod Winston for an Introduction to Birding webinar. This educational session will cover birding basics, how to pick binoculars and more. You’ll be given all the tools to start figuring out what’s in your local park and even make more advanced bird identifications.
Ducks! Shovelers, scoters, or mergansers, which duck do you think has the most insane bill? Join Lily Mastodimos for a stroll and decide for yourself! Check out the links below for information and registration.

Staten Island Songbirds. Join longtime birder and Staten Island resident Anthony Ciancimino to discover a diversity of wintering birds. Expect to see a variety of species of songbirds, including some possible early-arriving spring migrants.

Winter Birding. Don’t be fooled, winter is as good a time to go birding as ever. See and hear the many beautiful birds that rely on this crucial ecosystem, including songbirds, waterfowl, and more. Along the way, the importance of biodiversity and urban green space for all wildlife will be highlighted.

Hummingbirds! Learn from Ornithologist Gabriela Venable why hummingbirds might be the most colorful birds in the world and how their plumage helps these magnificent little winged creatures survive.
