NYC MOME Awards $2 Million in Grants to Women-Led Projects

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) has selected 89 projects to receive $2 million in finishing grants via the NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre. This is the third time this award has been granted and brings the total funding to $5.5 million for 246 recipients (63 in 2019 and 94 in 2020).

The program, funded by MOME and administered by the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), is intended to address the underrepresentation of women in film, music, and theatre, particularly among writers and directors. Grants are awarded in nine categories: General Music, Theatre Productions, Classical/Jazz/Experimental Music, Fiction Shorts, Documentary Features, Documentary Shorts, Documentary Webisodes/Webseries, Fiction Webisodes/Webseries, and Fiction Features.

We are thrilled to play a part in supporting women-led projects, like Amy Schumer's new series "Life & Beth" and the work of our Artist-in-Residence Sol Kjøk. Congratulations to all winners. We cannot wait to see their finished work!
