Amy Schumer's "Life & Beth" Coming to Hulu on March 18
/On Friday, March 18 the entire 10-episode first season of Amy Schumer’s new show “Life & Beth” will drop on Hulu. Schumer stars as the title character, Beth, a seemingly successful woman in a long-term relationship with a steady career as a wine distributor. Her life might seem perfect, but she feels bored and unfulfilled. A sudden incident forces Beth to take a look back at her past to see who she wants to become. The action switches back and forth between Manhattan and Long Island, and Broadway Stages is excited for you to see how our filming locations tie into the production.
Schumer has been quite busy over the past few years. In 2018 she got married, and in 2019 she had her first baby. She produced and starred in a documentary series for HBO Max about her difficult pregnancy called “Expecting Amy,” and she and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, starred in the self-shot Food Network series “Amy Schumer Learns to Cook.”
“Life & Beth” has her back writing, directing, executive producing, and starring in her own show. Her previous show, “Inside Amy Schumer,” ran for four seasons on Comedy Central from 2013 to 2016. During that time she also wrote and starred in Judd Apatow’s hit film “Trainwreck.”
Alongside Schumer, Michael Cera plays her potential love interest John, the groundskeeper at a vineyard. Laura Benanti and Michael Rapaport portray her parents. Cera recently returned to the role that put him on the map, appearing as George Michael Bluth on the fifth season of the occasionally rebooted “Arrested Development.” Tony winner Benanti currently appears in Netflix’s musical biopic “Tick, Tick… Boom!” and HBO Max’s new installment of “Gossip Girl.” Rapaport has had a long career that included stints on Fox’s “The War at Home,” NBC’s “My Name Is Earl,” and Fox’s “Prison Break.”
Log on to Hulu on March 18 to binge watch the entire first season of “Life & Beth.” If you want to see even more of Schumer this month, be sure to watch the Academy Awards on March 27, as she will co-host the ceremony along with Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes.
