MOME Commissioner Talks About the Film and TV Industry Recovery

Spectrum News NY 1 recently interviewed the commissioner of New York City’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME), Anne del Castillo, to talk about the recovery of the city’s film and television production industry, and the positive economic impact the industry continues to provide the city.

A recent Economic Impact Study commissioned by MOME reports that in 2019, the film and television industry in NYC supported approximately 185,000 total jobs, $18.1 billion in total wages, and $18.6 billion in total output. The New York state tax credit programs have been instrumental for industry growth and remain key to attracting industry activity to New York City. And the good news – demand continues to increase!

At Broadway Stages, we are doing our part to meet the growing demand of the industry while also helping to generate economic value to our local communities.
