Stuck in a rut when it comes to your usual rotation of restaurant favorites? We all have our standby’s, tried and true that we’ve grown to love, but once in a while, we crave something new, something that shakes things up in a good way! This week we put a spotlight on a newcomer in Queens that you are going to love — Nneji in located in Astoria. Born in the midst of the pandemic, this West African restaurant was created with the goal of bringing African cuisine and its many facets and flavors to the mainstream.
Nneji is the brain child of culinary innovator Beatrice Ajaero, whose love for cooking started at a very early age, and whose methods are heavily influenced by family and culture. Despite having an MBA and a law degree, owning a restaurant was her big goal and she is living her dream with Nneji. The tag line of the restaurant says it all — “Africa. Food. Kindred.” At Nneji customers are offered a menu of delightful dishes such as egusi soup, African red stew, savory meat pies and so much more, all expertly crafted by Ajaero herself. Take a look below and at their website to see an array of delicious options!
The restaurant operates Monday through Friday, and they offer both pickup and delivery so you can count on a delicious West African meal during the busy work week. Check out the testimonials from satisfied customers and read about the amazing food Nneji is bringing to Astoria!
