Novak of Eagle St. Rooftop Farm Teaches Course on Identifying Trees

Calling all tree lovers! We love to spotlight our partners, and that’s why we want to be sure our readers know that urban agriculture expert Annie Novak is currently teaching an online class through Atlas Obscura, titled “Beyond Tree Identification: Learning the Secrets of Trees with Annie Novak.” As you know, Ms. Novak is founder and director of Growing Chefs and co-founder and farmer at Eagle Street Rooftop Farm that grows atop one of our soundstage facilities in Greenpoint.

The course will help you “get to know the trees around you—from learning basic botany and tree identification to performing your own fieldwork.” Although the class started Monday, September 13, it is not too late to join the remaining sessions and to access a recording of past session(s). The remaining online classes will be held on Mondays (September 20 and 27; and October 4), from 6:30–8:00 p.m. ET. See the course link for a detailed class description, fee information, and registration link).
