WE ARE NATURE — A Monarch's Journey: Insectageddon | Sept. 25

As Broadway Stages’ followers know, we actively partner with local organizations to support initiatives that benefit our community. These partnerships and the programs they provide, help bring equity, inclusion, and well-being to our city in various ways, including economic growth, environmental sustainability, and appreciation for the arts.

We are excited to tell you about an upcoming event presented by our partners NOoSPHERE Arts and Newtown Creek Alliance, and performances curated by CreateArtA Monarch’s Journey.

An immersive dance and music performance inspired by the migration of the Monarch butterfly, A Monarch’s Journey is part of the larger Insectageddon event — a two-day world-wide collective celebration of insects and pollinators — led by the High Line and artist Cecilia Vicuña to both reflect on and raise awareness of our interconnectedness with the insect world and the threats they face.

A Monarch’s journey will take place on Saturday, September 25 from 3 - 6 p.m. The performance begins at Kingsland Wildflowers at Broadway Stages, and ventures through the Newtown Creek Nature Walk and along the Paige Avenue Pollinator Pathway, then back to the garden rooftop.

See the Eventbrite invitation for details and to register for one of two sessions (3-4 pm or 5-6 pm). Please join us as we celebrate nature and its interconnectedness to the health of our habitat and the arts!
