"Girls5eva" Coming to Peacock on May 6

Having the film and television industry buzzing again has been great and talking about the productions that call Broadway Stages home is our way to celebrate the continued return of entertainment and amazing talent both in front of and behind the camera.  Whether they have filmed at our soundstages or locations, or utilized our support space, we consider them all family.  One of our part-time productions, Peacock’s “Girls5eva,” is scheduled to drop all eight episodes on Thursday, May 6.

Created by Meredith Scardino and executive-produced by Tina Fey, "Girls5eva" follows a once popular '90s girl group as they attempt a comeback when their only hit song is sampled by a young rap star. Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, and Busy Philipps star as the grown women hoping for another chance to make it big in the music industry 20 years after hitting their peak.

Peacock recently announced that Andrew Rannells will appear in a recurring role as Kev, the husband of Philipps' character Summer. Rannels recently appeared in Netflix's movie musical "The Prom," and he was nominated for a Tony Award for his leading role in "The Book of Mormon" in 2011.

Scardino previously wrote for several late-night shows including "The Colbert Report" and "Saturday Night Live," as well as "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," which was created by Fey and also filmed at Broadway Stages part-time.

We are thrilled that filming has safely resumed in New York City and that our facilities are busy with cast and crew working on new episodes of your favorite shows. We can’t wait to see "Girls5Eva" on May 6 on Peacock. Be sure to mark your calendar!
