Kaley Cuoco Will Fly Again in Season Two of "The Flight Attendant"
/“The Flight Attendant” has racked up tons of accolades since it took flight last December on HBO Max. We were so happy to see our soundstages appear in the New York-set first season of the popular dark comedy thriller. In season two, flight attendant Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco) will pack her bags, leaving the Big Apple behind to try to start anew in the City of Angels.
Based on the novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, “The Flight Attendant” follows the high-flying adventures of a hard-partying, alcoholic flight attendant.
In season one, Cassie woke up in a Bangkok hotel room next to the dead body of a passenger named Alex (Michiel Huisman) who she had slept with after a night of heavy drinking. Unable to remember much about the night before, Cassie spends the season tracking down Alex’s murderer while also working toward sobriety and traveling around the world.
“The Flight Attendant” picked up nominations for Best Comedy Series at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Television Awards, and Cuoco earned nominations for her individual performance at the two awards ceremonies. The Screen Actors Guild Awards also recognized Cuoco with a nomination, and the entire cast was honored with a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
A release date for season two is still up in the air. Cuoco recently told E! News that writers are currently coming up with ideas for season two, in which a newly sober Cassie will try to reestablish herself on the West Coast. Fans of the show were left with questions that the writers will hopefully tackle in the new season. What will become of Cassie’s colleagues Shane (Griffin Matthews) and Megan (Rosie Perez) following the events of the first season? Will Miranda (Michelle Gomez) or Buckley (Colin Woodell) return and further complicate Cassie’s life? Can she stay sober? And what will become of her best friend Annie (Zosia Mamet) and her boyfriend Max (Deniz Akdeniz)? We will update you as we learn more.
