TCAH Honors Broadway Stages and Senator Roxanne Persaud
/It’s hard to imagine that more than 10 months have passed since we were first introduced to Dr. Melody Samuels and The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) by State Senator Roxanne Persaud. Time flies when you are having fun and lending a hand. In May of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was raging, we opened the doors of our 11,000 square foot soundstage warehouse in Canarsie to TCAH. The facility was converted into a food collection and distribution center that has played a critical role in helping to feed our community. Since March of last year, TCAH has served 20 million nutritious meals to neighbors in need. We are incredibly proud to have played a part in helping to battle food insecurity in our community and to have been a host to TCAH. On Monday, April 5 TCAH hosted an event at our Canarsie warehouse to say thank you to Broadway Stages and Senator Persaud for supporting their mission. Senator Persaud received a lovely award recognizing her leadership, compassion and commitment to her constituency. Broadway Stages was presented with a beautiful plaque that reads:
The Campaign Against Hunger Recognizes Broadway Stages for There Extraordinary Generosity During a Time of Unprecedented Need
On behalf of Broadway Stages. the plaque was received by Gina Argento, President and CEO, Tony Argento, Founder and Monica Holowacz, Director of Community Relations. Broadway Stages’ commitment to community is an integral part of our business. Today, more than ever, that commitment is critical to help ensure our neighbors who need help are receiving it. We wish TCAH prosperity as they move their operations to another facility in Brooklyn. We invite you to learn more about TCAH and consider volunteering your time and talents or making a donation. Take a look below at a few of the photos from the event where we gathered to graciously accept our plaque from TCAH and to offer them our very best wishes as they continue to feed those in need.
