Do you remember the first time a book really consumed you? You quickly became invested in the characters or concepts and the world around them and you weren’t able to put it down. Likely, its been much too long and these days, more than ever, we need a safe way to take a journey and books are the answer. Books Are Magic in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill neighborhood is inspiring people of all ages to rekindle their love of reading. The shop opened in 2017 and has been delighting people in the area with their beautifully curated collection of books ever since. They offer not only best-selling new arrivals, but also a myriad of other works with a focus on uplifting the voices of women and BIPOC. Additionally, they offer free books for people under the age of 18 in an effort to increase the number of 100+ book houses in Brooklyn. Books Are Magic also hosts a number of events each month for people of all ages, so make sure to keep an eye on their website to see if some of your favorite authors are stopping by.

The shop is open every day of the week, but if Cobble Hill is just a little too far for you, they’ll ship books straight to your home.
