"Law & Order: Organized Crime" | Detective Stabler Comes Home

Attention “Law & Order: SVU” fans — On April 1 Christopher Meloni will return as Detective Elliot Stabler after a decade away. Stabler retired from the NYPD following the 12th season of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in 2011 but he is coming out of retirement to lead an organized crime task force following a life-changing personal tragedy.

Joining Meloni will be Dylan McDermott, who is well known to TV audiences for his seven seasons portraying Bobby Donnell on ABC’s “The Practice” as well as his appearances in four seasons of FX’s anthology series “American Horror Story.” NBC is understandably not sharing much information about his character or the characters portrayed by the other actresses joining the main cast (Tamara Taylor, Danielle Moné Truitt, and newcomer Ainsley Seiger), but we are excited to see how things play out. Also joining the team in recurring roles will be Jaylin Fletcher, Charlotte Sullivan, Nick Creegan, and Ben Chase. Meloni will first appear in a crossover episode of “SVU” with former castmates Mariska Hargitay (as Det. Olivia Benson) and Ice-T (as Det. Fin Tutuola) called “Return of the Prodigal Son.” The pilot episode of “Organized Crime” called “What Happens in Puglia” will immediately follow. So tune in to NBC April 1 at 9 p.m. ET for “SVU” followed by “Organized Crime” at 10 p.m. ET.  Broadway Stages is honored to play a role in the Dick Wolf Law & Order franchise, and thrilled to see New York’s television and film industry rebounding.
