Urban Upbound Fundraiser – Relighting the Torch | Oct. 19
/On Tuesday, October 19 Urban Upbound will host their 17th annual gala celebration, “Relighting the Torch.” Dedicated to breaking cycles of poverty in New York City public housing and other low-income neighborhoods, the impact of Urban Upbound has been dramatic. Their integrated programs work in collaboration to effectively help individuals achieve economic prosperity and self-sufficiency. The funds raised at this annual gala help fund the programs that serve to empower individuals with hard skills, education, and access to resources.
For this year’s celebration, Urban Upbound is partnering with Major Food Group (MFG) to offer a dine-out experience to supporters on the day of their choosing at any of MFG’s top-notch restaurants, including Michelin-starred Carbone and ZZ’s Clam Bar, among others.
Urban Upbound will also take this opportunity to honor Costa Constantinides, CEO of Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens (VBGCQ). Prior to joining VBGCQ, Costa served as the City Council Member for District 22 for eight years. While serving as a Council Member, Costa secured over 25 million dollars to bring some measure of equity to residents of public housing.
We hope you will join us in supporting Urban Upbound and their efforts to end cycles of poverty in New York City neighborhoods — one person at a time. For more information and to donate click here.
