NCA Tidal Toast Fundraiser | October 21
/Newtown Creek Alliance’s (NCA) annual Tidal Toast benefit will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 6 p.m. The event is hosted by NYC Department of Environmental Protection and will be held at the newly completed phase three of the Newtown Creek Nature Walk.
Since 2002, NCA has been the voice of Newtown Creek; working with industry, agencies, and residents alike to promote awareness, remediation, access, resilient businesses and ecological improvements for our local waterway and upland communities. NCA is also the educational steward of Kingsland Wildflowers green roof garden atop Broadway Stages’ production facility at 520 Kingsland Avenue – a Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund project committed to expanding natural habitat and green corridors for bird and wildlife populations.
The outdoor event will include drinks and light food, speeches, and recognition of this year’s honorees who have made substantial contributions to Newtown Creek: Laura Hofmann, Restore Award; George Trakas, Revitalize Award; and Sane Energy Project & No North Brooklyn Pipeline, Reveal Award. Tickets are available now. Please join us in celebrating NCA’s 19 years of achievement.
