Showtime Orders Full Season of "Let the Right One In"

Showtime has ordered 10 episodes of “Let the Right One In,” an adaptation of the popular Swedish novel of the same name. Filming is scheduled to start in early 2022, and Broadway Stages is thrilled to be the production partner-of-choice for both the pilot and the upcoming series.

The 2004 novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist follows the relationship between a bullied 12-year-old boy and a vampire child in suburban Stockholm in the early 1980s. Showrunner Andrew Hinderaker (Netflix’s “Away”) is moving the action to New York and adding additional characters and storylines. Seith Mann, who has directed episodes of “The Wire,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Fringe,” will direct.

Showtime has brought in Oscar-nominated actor Demián Bichir (“A Better Life”) to portray Mark, a husband and father whose daughter Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez) is bitten by a mysterious creature, which seemingly turns her into a vampire. Kevin Carroll, Jacob Buster, Ian Foreman, Anika Noni Rose, and Grace Gummer will star alongside the two leads.

In 2008, the novel was adapted for the big screen in Swedish under its original name. Two years later, an English-language version starring Chloë Grace Moretz was released under the name “Let Me In.” Both films were popular with critics and horror fans alike.

Tomorrow Studios has been trying to develop a small screen adaptation with various networks since 2015. We are thrilled that Showtime gave a green light to the producers, and we are also excited to expand our relationship with Showtime; all five seasons of its hit series “Billions” have been filmed at our studios.
