"Parasite" Makes History at the Oscars – Congratulations to the Winners!

South Korean thriller "Parasite" made history at the 92nd Academy Awards by becoming the first foreign-language film to win Best Picture. The film also won the recently renamed category Best International Feature Film (previously called Best Foreign-Language Film). Director Bong Joon-Ho also won for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.

Another historic moment was when "Jojo Rabbit" writer and director Taika Waititi won for Best Adapted Screenplay. He became the first person of Māori descent to win an Oscar.

Hildur Guðnadóttir was the first woman in 23 years to win in the category of Best Score, winning for her work on "Joker." The powerhouse trio of Sigourney Weaver, Gal Gadot, and Brie Larson announced the win right after Eímear Noone became the first woman to conduct the orchestra at the Oscars.

In the acting categories there were zero surprises, as Brad Pitt ("Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood") and Laura Dern ("Marriage Story") won for supporting roles, and Joaquin Phoenix ("Joker") and Renée Zellweger ("Judy") won in the leading categories.
