Broadway Stages Congratulates Golden Globe Winners

We are so excited that awards season is in full swing! Congratulations to all nominees and winners at Sunday evening's Golden Globe Awards

We are especially proud of Russell Crowe who was named Best Actor in a Limited TV Series or TV Movie for his performance as former Fox Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in Showtime's "The Loudest Voice," filmed right here in New York at Broadway Stages. Sadly Russell Crowe was not in attendance, as he was in Australia "protecting his family from the devastating bushfires." However, he took the opportunity to make a statement about climate change during his pre-written acceptance speech. As a business committed to promoting environmental sustainability, we at Broadway Stages could not be prouder.

Another big winner with ties to Broadway Stages is Awkwafina, who made history on Sunday when she became the first performer of Asian descent to win a Golden Globe in a lead actress film category (Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical) for her performance in "The Farewell." You can next see her on the small screen when her show "Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens" debuts on Comedy Central on January 22. The show was shot in and around New York City, and Broadway Stages is thrilled that our studios played host to the series.

Next up on the awards circuit will be the Critics' Choice Awards, which will be held this coming Sunday, January 12. Then the next day (January 13) be sure to tune in when the Academy Awards nominations are announced. We have our fingers crossed that Awkwafina will nab a nomination.
