Fun Fun Fun at Canarsie Park

Canarsie Park was the place to be on August 15th.  Senator Persaud hosted Family Fun Day and she definitely delivered, even the weather was perfect!  The community was in full force as they enjoyed the family friendly games — proudly sponsored by Broadway Stages — including giant connect four, giant UNO, corn hole and other activities. There was even a storytelling station led by Kamla Millwood, children’s book author and Founder/CEO of Palatial Publishing, LLC, who inspired the children and captured their attention with her storytelling prowess.  Also in attendance were representatives from the four NYPD Precincts [63rd, 69th, 73rd and 75th] that serve Senate District 19.  

It was a great way to spend a leisurely summer day — sun, fun and community fellowship! In her remarks to the community, Senator Persaud encouraged residents to buy the local newspaper, the Canarsie Courier, and to sign-up for her newsletter in order to stay informed about issues and activities in the community. Our own Monica Holowacz, Director of Community Relations, also addressed the crowd, thanking them for the opportunity to be part of the event and expressing Broadway Stages’ pride in being part of the Canarsie community.
