This Week’s Eats | Pies & Thighs

It’s Friday and that means we are featuring another amazing restaurant from NYC.  This week we venture into the delictable cuisine known as southern cooking! Oh yeah, pull up a chair and sit down with us to enjoy food from none other than Pies & Thighs in Williamsburg.  What started off in 2006 as a beer storage closet in the shadows of the Williamsburg Bridge, was transformed by owners, Sarah Sanneh and Carolyn Bane, into a tiny kitchen with just six stools. Inspired by their love of comfort food, they quickly became known for their huge donuts, smoked pork sandwiches and fried chicken.

For lunch we went all-out savory with pulled pork, mac & cheese, fried chicken and biscuits, and it delicious! Check them out for yourself, but get there early because there is usually a waitt that is totally worth every minute. And if you don’t believe us just listen to what the New York Times has to say, “...a compelling combination, well executed and put forth with real heart - the sort of restaurant that’s hard to find, especially in the big city, but easy to love once found.” And remember the huge donuts? Pies & Thighs was awarded Best Donut and Best Biscuits in New York by the New York Daily, and Best Apple Pie and Best Fried Chicken in national surveys by Food & Wine and Bon Appetit. GO! NOW! They are open for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. Hours and location can be found here. Tell them Broadway Stages sent you.
