Awkwafina Hits the Small Screen in 2020

Actress and rapper Awkwafina has had quite a year. From her star-making turn in "Crazy Rich Asians" to her critically acclaimed performance in "The Farewell," she has found great success on the silver screen. So where can you see her next? Having already conquered the music and film industries, she will be setting her sights on the small screen in 2020.

In January Awkwafina will star in her own series on Comedy Central called "Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens." The autobiographical comedy centers on a young woman named Nora Lum (Awkwafina's real name) who was raised by her father and grandmother in Flushing, Queens.

To remain authentic to her life and upbringing, the show is being shot in and around New York City. Broadway Stages is thrilled that our studios are playing host to the series.  We can’t wait until January 2020 to start watching!
