Celebrate the Arts in October | National Arts & Humanities Month
/Broadway Stages invites you to join us in October as we celebrate National Arts & Humanities Month. Americans for the Arts established the event as a weekly celebration more than 30 years ago to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the National Endowment for the Arts. In 1993, it became a month-long event that highlights the importance of culture in our nation. Through National Arts & Humanities Month, Americans for the Arts aims to make the public more aware about the important role the arts and humanities play in our communities and lives — at the local, state, and national levels; to encourage individuals and organizations to participate in the arts and enable governments and businesses to show their support of the arts.
Locally, Americans for the Arts will be holding two events in New York City. The Arts and Business Partnership Awards (October 3 at The Central Park Boathouse) is an annual event that recognizes business partnerships with the arts. Past recipients include Microsoft, Hallmark, Scholastic and Walt Disney World Resort. The 2019 National Arts Awards (October 21 at Cipriani 42nd Street) gathers artists and philanthropists to recognize outstanding leadership in the visual and performing arts, arts education, and philanthropy. Broadway Stages is proud to be a part of the television and film industry and the arts that provide us with such rich experiences.
