Director of Youth Programs Cheryl Blaylock and her amazing group of kids teamed up with Broadway Stages to provide a two-hour tree stewardship program.

Young volunteers from Trees NY, an environmental and urban forestry nonprofit organization, cleaned trash, pulled weeds, cultivated soil, and watered trees in front of our studio at 370 Greenpoint Ave. The organization's mission is to plant, preserve, and protect New York City's urban forest through education, volunteer groups, and advocacy.

Broadway Stages Supports Environmental Education Program

ExxonMobil and Broadway Stages funded the S.Y.S.T.E.M Teen Summer Program, which came to an end at the Lentol Garden Wednesday afternoon. Through the program, 12 New York City high school students developed skills to become future leaders of environmental studies. The Greenpoint YMCA and the NYU Wallerstein Collaborative for Urban Environmental Education developed the program with a focus on the integration of STEM standards.

Broadway Stages Co-Sponsors National Night Out 2014

Broadway Stages, CBS's "The Good Wife" (filmed at Broadway Stages), and Greenpoint YMCA sponsored the Night Out Against Crime, an event celebrating and promoting safer neighborhoods. In Greenpoint, the 94th Precinct discussed ways to prevent crime and highlight neighborhood watch groups and other crimefighting efforts. Thank you to Betty Hulson and the crew of the 94th Precinct Community Council for putting together another amazing event full of food, rides, and music.

The Groundswell Community Mural Project's at-risk youth program unveiled a new mural at Broadway Stages in Greenpoint, Brooklyn today. Entitled "Welcome to Greenpoint," the installation at 370 Greenpoint Avenue celebrates the neighborhood’s rich immigrant history and future as NYC's capital for TV and film. "We're honored that these students chose to build their gorgeous mural at Broadway Stages. They have put so much hard work into recreating, even re-imagining, our entire neighborhood. Their mural will be a constant reminder that Greenpoint is at the heart of who we all are," Broadway Stages president Gina Argento said.
