Richard Mendoza opened Filthy Rich Barbershop in Woodside Queens in 2006. As a 5th generation hairstylist, he, along with his sister Kassandra who also works at Filthy Rich, have been styling hair since they were kids. The shop has amassing a cast of talented stylists over the years, and their artistry has attracted the attention of NBC News and New York Post. They even opened a second location in downtown Williamsburg. Today, both shops are neighborhood staples and have serviced major celebrities such as Big Sean, Flo Rida, and Los Angeles Clippers point guard Austin Rivers. And they don’t plan to slow down any time soon.
