Green Roofs Explained | NCA Short Film
Did you know there are at least eight key benefits of a green rooftop?
Did you know that green roofs represent less than 0.1% of rooftop space in New York City?
As an early adopter and supporter of green roofs, Broadway Stages has demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship. We have invested in more than 100,000 square feet of green rooftop infrastructure across our facilities in Brooklyn.
Newtown Creek Alliance (NCA) is the primary steward of Kingsland Wildflowers at Broadway Stages that makes up more than 23,000 square feet of our green rooftop corridor. In 2021, NCA received a grant from The New York Community Trust via the Green Roof Researchers Alliance, to develop a short film about green roofs. Filmed at Kingsland Wildflowers by 7Cinema, this short film explains the importance and key benefits of green roofs to our habitat. We encourage you to watch the film, become informed, and consider what you can do to make a difference in the health of our environment.
