NYWIFT Muse Awards Returning in Person After Two Years

For more than four decades, New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) has honored talented and accomplished women at its prestigious Muse Awards annual holiday luncheon. The event typically attracts 1,200 leading executives from every major studio, broadcast and cable network, and film production facility. The pandemic derailed this major fundraiser the last two years, forcing NYWIFT to hold it virtually. Thankfully, the organization plans to bring the glamorous event back in March as part of its celebration of Women's History Month.

NYWIFT dates back to 1977, when a small group of women in New York decided to create a networking and education forum for women in the entertainment industry. Three years later, the group held the first Muse Awards luncheon to honor "The New Yorker" film critic Pauline Kael. The organization would go on to honor dozens of remarkable women in the film and television industries, including Rita Moreno, Nora Ephron, Jodie Foster, and Meryl Streep, to name a few.

Nominations are currently open, so if you know anyone deserving of this honor, fill out the nomination form and keep your fingers crossed! Be sure to follow our blog for updates as the awards season heats up.
