Sol Kjøk’s Work Featured at Artissima Art Fair | Turin, Italy
Our Resident Artist Sol Kjøk recently participated in Artissima 2022 in Turin, Italy. Artissima is Italy’s most important contemporary art fair. Since its establishment in 1994, it has presented international artists focused on experimentation and research.
Kjøk has studied in Paris, Athens (GA), Vienna, Medellín, and Cincinnati, earning her three graduate degrees in humanities. She went on to obtain an MFA in painting at Parsons School of Design in New York.
Fresh out of art school in 2005, Sol founded Mothership NYC in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Mothership NYC is a combined live-work space and presentation arena for international artists across multiple disciplines in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, NYC.
Five artists from the collective made the trip from New York: Sol Kjøk, Elena Greta Falcini, Katy Gunn, Stefanie Gerstmayr, Rolf-Maria Krückels, and Marcin Ryczek. The Mothershippers were displayed at the new art space Edicola 51 in the historic heart of Turin.
The fair is curated by Artissima Srl, a company connected with the Fondazione Torino Musei.
Congratulations to our friends on a great showing amongst fellow great artists!
Within the next few months, several Mothershipper artists will also be featured in another new gallery, Studio 52 in Munich, Germany – stay tuned for further updates!
