Eckford Street Studios | Winter/Spring Programs
Broadway Stages is committed to promoting local community educational opportunities such as those offered through ESS Community Projects @ Eckford Street Studio (ESScp). ESScp is a community art studio with a mission to bring high quality art education to all members of the North Brooklyn community, regardless of income or experience. They provide art experiences and instruction for all ages, from six months to adult. Check out their Winter/Spring 2022 programs (follow the links for more details, schedules, and registration instructions).
Art After School at Park Church Co-op is for students in pre-k through fifth grades. Students will “examine works of art and unlock the ideas and processes used by the artists to create them,” with an emphasis on “process, problem solving, and experimentation.” Art After School at PS34 is for students in pre-k through kindergarten, and “features projects based on books and works of art, with plenty of materials and sensory exploration built-in.”
ARTLAB is for kids ages six months to four years old and their grown-ups, and features child-centered classes where they can “work together…to create masterpieces inspired by the world around them.” Held at Last Place on Earth in Greenpoint, ARTLAB offers three different classes: ARTLAB Storytime (6-18 months), ARTLAB Junior (15 months to 2.75 years), and ARTLAB Original (2.5 to 4 years old).
Adults of any experience level can find classes to explore their creative side! Upcoming classes at Park Church Co-op include the Linocut and Soft Sculpture Series (coming in March), and Figure Drawing on Tuesday evenings.
Also check out the Family Open Studio at Park Church Co-op, held one Saturday each month, for a family art workshop to support ESS, Park Church Co-op, and the community.
