73rd Primetime Emmy Awards Live on CBS and Streaming | September 19
It’s finally here! The 73rd annual Emmy Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ and elsewhere at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 19, 2021. This year’s primetime awards ceremony will be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, comedian and star of CBS’ “The Neighborhood.” And we are excited that three nominees associated with shows filmed at Broadway Stages, will be presenters: Kaley Cuoco (“The Flight Attendant”); Billy Porter (“Pose”); and Michaela Jaé (Mj) Rodriguez (“Pose”).
While the ceremony will be live, due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles, The Television Academy announced that all attendees will have to present proof of vaccination as well as a negative COVID-19 test for entry. In addition, the audience has been limited to nominees and one guest of choice. All award ceremonies will be held under an air-conditioned tent on the Event Deck at L.A. LIVE located directly behind the Microsoft Theater. The popular red-carpet event will be limited and held only for the primetime show.
The competition is fierce this year, despite the drop in submissions, with streaming giants dominating many of the most-anticipated categories of the evening. While many of the award categories are too close to call, there is a lot of chatter about predictions. Check out ET’s ongoing coverage for Emmy predictions, news, and updates.
