Broadway Stages Helps Communities Get Back-to-School
It’s that time of year again and the back-to-school buzz is at a fever pitch. Parents and students alike are excited to get back into the classroom after a challenging year of virtual learning. We all remain hopeful that we will be able to safely bring our children back into school where their passion for education and socialization skills can be nurtured. Broadway Stages is doing its part to celebrate the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year with the donation of 200 backpacks featuring the Made-in-Brooklyn logo!
Our sincere gratitude to the various community organizations and individuals who are leading the effort to collect back-to-school supplies for those in need, including the Cooper Park Residents Council, Inc., Debra Benders, President; Ben Solotaire, Community Liaison and Director of Participatory Budgeting for City Councilmember Stephen Levin [District 33]; Assembly Member Martiza Davila [Assembly District 53], Councilmember Robert Holden [District 30]; the NYPD 104th precinct, and many others that volunteer their time and financial resources to enhance educational equality and learning for the children of our community. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and in New York City our village stands strong!
We wish parents, students, teachers, school administrators and staff, a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous school year!
