"Dr. Death" Coming to Peacock This Summer

If you love true crime shows, you will not want to miss Peacock’s upcoming limited series “Dr. Death.” The streaming network has been steadily increasing its output of original content, and its latest addition may be just what the doctor ordered to get you through those summer doldrums.

“Dr. Death” will tell the true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a former neurosurgeon and rising star in the Dallas medical community who in 2017 was found guilty of maiming and killing multiple patients. The series is based on the Wondery Media six-episode podcast series also called “Dr. Death.”

Joshua Jackson (most recently seen on Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere”) stars as Duntsch, who is currently serving a life sentence. Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater co-star as fellow surgeons who try to stop the doctor from harming more patients. Pandemic-related delays led to the recasting of several key roles, as Jamie Dornan (“Fifty Shades” trilogy) was set to play Dr. Duntsch, and Stephen Frears (“The Queen”) was expected to direct the first two episodes of the series. Instead, a trio of female directors, Maggie Kiley, Jennifer Morrison, and So Yong Kim, have taken the directing reins.

The limited series was filmed at three of our New York City sound stages, and we cannot wait to see all of that hard work come together when the series premieres this summer. Check out the trailer below, and be sure to make an appointment with your favorite streaming device when “Dr. Death” arrives on Peacock.
