Broadway Stages Proudly Sponsors Brooklyn Film Festival
Get ready film buffs, the 2021 Brooklyn Film Festival is a go! From June 4 to 13, the Brooklyn Film Festival will be screening over 140 films with a chance to win a total of 30 awards including their coveted Grand Chameleon Award. This year’s theme? ‘The Clearing,’ New York residents are getting vaccinated in large numbers and observing the city rules regarding safe distancing and mask wearing. Cinemas are re-opening with new, safer policies and criteria. Because of this, there is a sweet sense of optimism in the air, akin to experiencing a slow awakening from a two-year hibernation. This year’s venues include an online viewing option as well as Windmill Studios in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Films will be separated into six categories: Feature Narrative, Feature Documentary, Short Narrative, Short Doc, Experimental, and Animation. Check out the schedule and to stay up to date with the latest goings-on of the Brooklyn Film Festival.
Virtual attendees can purchase a category pass at $10.00 each, or for a limited time, the virtual pass for the entire festival can be purchased for just $24.00. Those who attend in person can buy single program passes for $15.00 each or pay just $50.00 for a full indoor pass, also for a limited time. Looking for more information? The Brooklyn Film Festival was created with a few core tenets in mind: To provide a public forum in Brooklyn in order to advance public interest in films and the independent production of films. To draw worldwide attention to Brooklyn as a center for cinema. To encourage the rights of all Brooklyn residents to access and experience the power of independent filmmaking, and to promote artistic excellence and the creative freedom of artists without censure. We at Broadway Stages stand by these values and are happy to be a part of this amazing festival that really is a labor of love for all of the wonderful and talented filmmakers in Brooklyn. We can’t wait to see you all there!
