"The Equalizer" Returning to CBS on May 2

Now that filming has safely resumed, new episodes of your favorite shows are on their way, and we are excited to tell you about one that has been filming at our facilities. “The Equalizer,” starring Queen Latifah, premiered after the Super Bowl back in February. The crime drama follows single mother Robyn McCall (Latifah) whose background as a former government operative allows her to help crime victims in danger. Robyn is a modern-day vigilante seeking justice for herself and others.

The show is a reboot of the 1980s series with the same name, developed by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim and starring Edward Woodward as the similarly named Robert McCall. The show inspired two films starring Denzel Washington – 2014’s “The Equalizer” and 2018’s “The Equalizer 2.”

The first six episodes proved popular enough that CBS has ordered a second season. Following a month-long hiatus, the final two episodes of season one will air on Sunday, May 2 and 9.

When we last saw Robyn, she had teamed up with NYPD detective Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles) to investigate a high-profile political adviser’s horrific crimes and take down a corrupt former cop who helped cover up those crimes. When the show returns on May 2 with the episode “Hunting Grounds,” Robyn will desperately try to find a woman who has been kidnapped by a serial killer. The first season concludes a week later with the finale titled “Lifeline.” We were thrilled to be part of season one and cannot wait for season two to start filming! Mark your calendar or set your DVR and enjoy watching “The Equalizer” on CBS.
