Inside Broadway Stages | What's Filming
Despite the pandemic, the film and television industry has been able to safely continue filming, providing much needed entertainment and a spotlight on important issues. The industry also helps boost the local and state economy, and the communities in which we live and work. For almost 40 years, Broadway Stages has played a role in this industry, and we could not be prouder to be a part of the cultural impact consistently made. Here is a quick look at some of the amazing productions being filmed at our facilities.
“Evil” FIlming Season Three on Paramount +
When Paramount+ hit “Evil” concluded its second season in October, fans were stunned by the ending, in particular Kristen’s (Katja Herbers) confession and David’s (Mike Coulter) reaction. We are happy to report that the popular series will return for a third season, which is being filmed at our soundstages in Greenpoint.
Series co-creator Robert King recently tweeted photos from the set, showing stars Herbers, Coulter, Aasif Mandvi, and Kurt Fuller. Check out the images from scenes shot on-set at our soundstages in Greenpoint, and if you missed the first two seasons, be sure to catch up on Paramount+ before season three drops sometime in 2022.

Jim Parsons Filming “Spoiler Alert” in New York City
While best known for his iconic performance as Sheldon on “The Big Bang Theory,” Jim Parsons is a veteran of more than a dozen films, and his newest is shooting in New York City and at some of our facilities.
“Spoiler Alert,” brought to the screen by Focus Features (part of NBCUniversal) is directed by Michael Showalter (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye” and “The Big Sick”) is an adaptation of Michael Ausiello’s 2017 novel “Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Other Four-Letter Words.” The heartbreaking yet hilarious novel follows the 14- year relationship of Ausiello (played by Parsons) and his husband Kit Cowan, a photographer who died of cancer in 2015. Ben Aldridge (“Pennyworth” and “Fleabag”) plays Cowan, and Oscar winner Sally Field will portray his mother.
Broadway Stages is honored to help bring this real-life story to the big screen. We do not have a release date yet, but we will report updates as we get them.
Amy Schumer’s Upcoming “Life & Beth” Adds Laura Benanti to Cast
Amy Schumer maintained a fairly low profile over the past few years, but the comedienne was very busy off-camera. In 2018 she got married, and in 2019 she had her first baby. Now, she is back writing, directing, executive producing, and starring in Hulu’s upcoming comedy “Life & Beth.”
According to Hulu, Schumer plays Beth, whose life “looks pretty great on paper. Impressive to everyone she grew up with. She makes a good living as a wine distributor. She’s in a long-term relationship with an attractive, successful guy and lives in Manhattan. When a sudden incident forces Beth to engage with her past, her life changes forever. Through flashbacks to her teen self, Beth starts to learn how she became who she is and who she wants to become.”
Michael Cera co-stars, and Tony winner Laura Benanti will appear in a recurring role. She currently appears in Netflix’s musical biopic “Tick, Tick… Boom!” and HBO Max’s new installment of “Gossip Girl.”
