National Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Wear Pink Day | October 22
Each October marks National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), an international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease, as well as raise funds for research on its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. While we recognize NBCAM all month long, the official day of support is Friday, October 22 when everyone is encouraged to wear pink to help raise awareness and funds.
Did you know that every 2 minutes a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer? It is the second most common cancer affecting women and it is estimated that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. These appalling statistics mean that every one of us knows someone who is or has battled breast cancer. Please join us in supporting this cause and be sure to wear pink on October 22!
