NOoSPHERE Arts, one of Broadway Stages’ green arts partners, has announced their annual Residency Award winner, Gjert Rognli, a Norwegian multimedia artist of indigenous Sámi origin who works in film, photography, sculpture and performance disciplines.  Gjert was selected by a committee of artist peers and international art world professionals out of hundreds of applications.  For his residency project What Nature Knows, to be presented in the summer of 2021, he will create a performance that combines film, sound and sculpture into a narrative about his upbringing in the Arctic region among shamans steeped in the ancient animist folk religion.  Please join us in congratulating Gjert on his award and NOoSPHERE Arts for their commitment to environmental sustainability through the arts.  To read more about Gjert, his inspirations and how he came to be an artist read this interview published in Singulart Magazine.
