Broadway Stages Green Roof Expansion Update
The Alive Structures construction crew was busy over the holidays making major progress on the Broadway Stages rooftop expansion project. “We have had a productive holiday taking advantage of the studios being closed and the mild weather to make some serious headway in this project,” says green roof specialist and Alive Structures Founder Marni Majorelle. The crew, led by Project Manager Eric Majorelle, was able to install approximately 30,000 square feet of green roof layers, drainage, and soil on three of the six sound stage roofs that will make up Broadway Stages Green Corridor. Barring weather issues, progress will continue in the coming months with the installation of pathways, edging, irrigation, and plants.
The rooftops are part of an additional 1.4 acres (or almost 61,000 square feet) of green rooftops being installed in the Broadway Stages Green Corridor, made possible by a grant from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation’s Green Innovation Grant Program.
Stay tuned for progress updates. #GOGREEN
