Wu-Tang: An American Saga" Drops on Hulu

Broadway Stages is excited that "Wu-Tang: An American Saga" is finally here, and the first episode airs tonight on Hulu! The 10-part miniseries tracks the influential hip hop group's rise to fame, and much of the series includes scenes filmed at Staten Island Stages earlier this year.

Back in 2014 when we decided to expand to Staten Island and convert the former Arthur Kill Correctional Facility into a full-service production facility, we imagined it being used for a project like this. Filming in an actual former prison brings a layer of realism to true stories like the Wu-Tang Clan's.

Watch "Wu-Tang: An American Saga" carefully and see if you can spot the main entrance of the former prison, as well as the cafeteria and dorms, administration cells, exterior yard, and shooting range. Many of these sets were also used to create a realistic tone on the last season of "Orange Is the New Black" and in Ava DuVernay's critically acclaimed "When They See Us."

Whether or not you are a fan of Method Man, The RZA, Ghostface Killah, or the rest of the clan, you will not want to miss this show. We worked hard to turn an abandoned prison into a world-class sound stage, and we cannot wait to see the results of that hard work on display in Hulu's "Wu-Tang: An American Saga" and other groundbreaking projects.
