TV and Film Business Generates Billions to Local NYC Economy

The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) has created a public service announcement (PSA) about the economic benefits of the television and film business. The industry contributes over $9 billion to the local economy and employs over 130,000, which is quite a positive impact. The PSA highlights several local businesses that have directly benefited from the presence of the industry, including Cafe Grumpy. Their original coffee shop is located at 193 Meserole Avenue in Greenpoint, just a few yards away from our headquarters and some of our sound stages. Our staff and clients, like the cast and crew from Blue Bloods, absolutely love the offerings at Grumpy’s, purchasing their artisinal coffee and pastries on a daily basis.  As one of the premier TV and film studio production companies in New York, Broadway Stages proudly supports local businesses and we are honored to play a role in helping to bring economic growth to our community.
