Holiday music, community fellowship and free coats were on the agenda at the 79th precinct as Broadway Stages hosted its annual coat giveaway.  The vibe was upbeat and we had plenty of warm coats to go around. We were thrilled with the steady stream of neighbors who stopped by to browse over the racks and find their perfect coat. This year we were overjoyed to have surpassed our goal of 500 coats reaching 624 — in all sizes. The coats that were not distributed at the giveaway will be provided to local shelters.

Our heartfelt thanks to all who donated, to our volunteers, our co-hosts, the NYPD’s 79th precinct, and of course to those who helped us collect coats including the Greenpoint YMCA, Queens Brewery, Park Deli, the Stuart Cinema and Cafe, IATSE Local 52, and our amazing clients. Finally, a special shout out to Expendables Plus who provided us with the racks that displayed our coats. Thank you one and all!  It is our profound pleasure and privilege to share the warmth and spirit of the season with our neighbors.  May this holiday bring you an abundance of happiness and comfort.
