Helping our Homeless…Together We Can
It is estimated that over 60,000 citizens of New York City reside in municiple homeless shelters, and that there are almost 15,000 homeless families, and over 21,000 homeless children — right here in our backyard. These numbers are staggering and sad. Please join us in supporting the homeless by donating what you can; toiletries and non-perishable food items are being collected by Council Members Holden and Van Bramer.
The collection drive, hosted by Council Member Holden and non-profit organization, Catering for the Homeless, Inc., runs through November 8th. In addition to toiletries, donations are sought for new clothes, toys, and non-perishable food pantry items such as cereal, canned vegetables, canned soup, peanut butter, jelly, granola bars, etc. Items may be dropped of at Clouncil Member Holden’s office located at 64-69 Dry Harbor Road, Middle Village, NY 11379 between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. If you have any questions please call 718-366-3900.
